WE HELP
WOMEN IN CONGO,
THROUGH EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
on the way to a better future.
At mama-lamuka, we support women's projects in Congo. Through education, girls and women are given the opportunity for a better future and the opportunity to build their own lives.

NEWS:
VISIT BY CONGOLESE BISHOP TOUSSAINT ILUKU BOLUMBU
The bishop celebrated a stirring service with an African flair at Christ the King Church in Krumpendorf. The service was accompanied by African rhythms from the groups Esengo and Paulus Worku.
As project sponsor, the bishop then gave insights into our women's aid project.

PROJECTS
TRAINING FARM BOKUNGU-IKELA
Now, the focus is on implementing a future-oriented agricultural project. At least 50 women are to receive multifaceted training each year, with the one-year agricultural training being of particular importance and beginning as soon as possible. This training will ensure self-sufficiency and sales in the region, thus resolving food supply problems.

THE BACKGROUND IN THE COUNTRY
According to the International Rescue Committee, 3.8 million Congolese were killed in the Democratic Republic of Congo as a result of the civil war between 1998 and the beginning of 2005. As a result of this massive unrest, the country's administration and infrastructure have almost completely collapsed, and the cultivated areas have been largely devastated and looted.

WHO WE ARE
It all began with Susanne Plieschnegger, a Carinthian woman originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo who had settled in Krumpendorf on Lake Wörthersee. She founded this association with like-minded Carinthians because she was aware of the problem of the lack of education for girls in her former homeland.
The central task of mama-lamuka is to support women’s projects in Congo:
General education for women (literacy)
Vocational training (in agriculture and crafts)
Health (AIDS prevention, etc.)
Raising awareness and strengthening women’s rights.
