TRAINING FARM BOKUNGU-IKELA

The future of agriculture
The goal is to implement a future-oriented agricultural project. At least 50 women are to receive multifaceted training each year, with the one-year agricultural training program being of particular importance and needing to begin as soon as possible.

This training will ensure both self-sufficiency and sales in the region, and will help resolve food supply problems.

Requirements and hurdles
For this purpose, among other things, a 40-hectare arable land area, agricultural tools, and a tractor must be acquired as part of the project. The necessary land has already been pledged by the diocese and will be made available to the association free of charge. These plots of land must be divided according to their potential uses, pasture and sowing areas must be designated and created, fences must be constructed, and buildings for keeping livestock must be erected.

Ecological farming for your own needs

The training will focus primarily on providing women and girls with basic knowledge of plant and vegetable cultivation, livestock husbandry and breeding, and, in particular, agricultural management with a focus on organic farming. This will ensure that the available land is managed with ecological care and that the trainees are trained to manage and produce for their own use as well as for sale.

The teachers

Three teachers have since been appointed by the diocese, two of whom are agronomists and one veterinarian:

Jean-Pierre Loola Ifanya, Camille, Mboyo Botuli , Jean-Pius Boale
